On approved models it is applied permanently to the housing of the headlight along with the issuing country code, the regulation it was approved to, and the approval number, so the claim can be checked against the published ECE regulation. We provide the test documentation on request. CE marking is separate and covers the European product requirements. Because the approval belongs to the product and to the manufacturer who holds it, it cannot simply be added to a lamp afterwards.
